We had the pleasure of attending the Maison & Object tradeshow in Paris which ran from the 19th to the 23rd of January. The event drew in thousands of professionals from leading furniture companies from Europe, Asia, and the US. We were excited to be there!
The show is held at the expansive site at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre, comfy shoes and a good breakfast are a must to get around the centre because there is so much to see. We were amazed by the sheer scale of the operation, beautifully designed booths fully decorated, it was all very impressive.
In addition to the visual displays on offer, we were excited to learn about the latest trends in furniture design and materials, as well as gain insight into how we can better market our products. We were thrilled by all the fresh concepts we had come across, and it left us feeling energized and motivated. We are also more inspired to create a mini showroom in our warehouse after seeing what’s possible.
We were able to meet with many suppliers and discuss their products and services and see if they fit with our goal to bring new and exciting brands to our customers, brands that are not already operating in Ireland.

There is no substitute for getting together in person to exchange thoughts and build connections. When we visited the 2022 show, we were inundated with possibilities. This time around, with more expertise and understanding acquired during our first year of business, we felt far more comfortable selecting the brands that aligned with our values and objectives.
It was a short trip, the temperature in Paris was dull and cold at just 1 degree, it wasn’t great weather for sightseeing. We were hoping to go to the Louvre for the second year running, but unfortunately, it was closed!
We enjoyed some nice meals, and we brought home a selection of chocolates from the beautiful chocolatier, Alain Ducasse. If you’re looking for a special treat, I’d highly recommend this!
And now its time to get back to the planning, we look forward to bringing updates as we add new product to our growing portfolio.
Gillian
